Irena Tsapelas is a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey and Connecticut. She obtained both her Master of Arts and Doctorate Degrees in Social/Health Psychology from Stony Brook University. Dr. Irena also obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Economics from New York University. 

Dr. Irena provides individual, couples and family therapy, and has worked with children, adolescents and adults. She has experience treating a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disturbances, personality disorders,  as well as general life stressors and transitions. Dr. Irena has extensive experience working with couples and has been trained in the Gottman Method for Couple’s Therapy. Her research on marriage and other close relationships also informs her clinical work with couples and families. Dr. Irena also has extensive experience working with individuals with neurodegenerative disorders and other chronic conditions.
